New climate chamber for controlled loading of materials

We have put into operation a climatic chamber designed for controlled loading of materials with temperature and humidity. The chamber allows for long-term and cyclic tests in the temperature range from −50 °C to +180 °C and in the relative humidity range up to 98%. This device is used to evaluate the stability and changes in the properties of plastics, rubbers, coatings, textiles and other materials when exposed to operating or accelerated conditions.

Tests in a climatic chamber allow for monitoring, for example, changes in mechanical properties, optical parameters and weight losses due to thermal and humidity loading. The chamber is equipped with a psychrometer-controlled regulation, measurement of the sample’s temperature protection by an independent sensor and software for precise programming of loading sequences. These parameters allow for repeatable measurements with controlled conditions throughout the duration of the tests.

The equipment also includes software support for tests according to automotive standards VW PV 1200 and BMW PR 308.2. However, the chamber is not only intended for the automotive sector, its functions are also useful in laboratory evaluation of materials in the consumer, packaging, construction and electrical industries. The inclusion of a climatic chamber expands the possibilities of assessing changes in material properties after controlled exposure to temperature and humidity.
