Complete testing in accordance with VW 50180 is now included in the scope of accreditation

As part of our latest accreditation expansion, we are now able to offer customers comprehensive testing in accordance with the VW 50180 specification within the scope of our accreditation. We are thus expanding our services in the area of evaluating the emission behavior of materials and components for the automotive industry.

The VW 50180 specification focuses on substances that may affect indoor air quality in vehicles, odor comfort, and the overall health safety of the materials used. In practice, this primarily includes testing for fogging, odor intensity, formaldehyde release, and emissions of organic compounds. The combination of these methods enables a comprehensive assessment of materials in accordance with the requirements of the automotive industry.

We have been prepared for this expansion for some time. In recent months, we have gradually incorporated odor testing, formaldehyde determination, and fogging into our scope of accreditation, expanded our analytical capabilities with GC-FID and GC-MS, and strengthened our facilities for testing materials under conditions corresponding to real-world operation. Thanks to this, we are now able to offer customers a comprehensive solution within a single laboratory.

The flexible scope of accreditation also plays a significant role, allowing us to implement additional test procedures, including OEM standards, within defined measurement principles. In addition to the complete package according to VW 50180, we also offer other automotive specifications focused on evaluating emissions, odor, fogging, or formaldehyde. This enables us to tailor testing to the specific requirements of individual automakers and projects.

For manufacturers and suppliers, this means a simpler process for verifying materials without having to coordinate multiple laboratories. At the same time, they can be confident that the results meet current automotive industry standards and are obtained through an accredited testing process.

This expansion in this area represents another step forward in our focus on technically demanding testing for the automotive industry.
